Regular wellness checks are important for monitoring healthy growth and development in children. The doctors at Natural Kid Doc follow the nationally recommended wellness exam schedule set by the American Academy of Pediatrics. During each visit, our naturopathic physicians will examine your child, take measurements, assess development and behavior and order screening tests. We will also answer any questions you have regarding your child, including sleep, digestion, behavior, and nutrition. We also educate and encourage parents to make informed decisions regarding vaccinations and alternative vaccination schedules. Vaccinations are administered during wellness visits if desired.

Vaccines have been a controversial topic over the past decade. Parents are finding it difficult to navigate their way through some very important decisions regarding their child’s health. Many parents find it frustrating when their pediatrician is unable to provide them with helpful information concerning vaccines. And because there is so much conflicting information out there, making a decision can be overwhelming.
The Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommend 12 different vaccines throughout childhood. Most of them require numerous doses in order to have full immunity to a particular disease. That means your child receives 34 immunizations by the time they are 6 years old and another 18 by the time they are 18 years old. That’s a total of 52 vaccines!

In addition to a full medical intake, our naturopathic physicians at Natural Kid Doc will order comprehensive laboratory tests when necessary. These include food sensitivity and food allergy testing, hormonal testing, nutritional status testing, digestion and absorption testing and gastrointestinal function.
Many of the conventional lab orders go through LabCorp or Sonora Quest and are typically covered by your insurance provider. We use a number of additional labs for more comprehensive workups that may or may not be covered by your insurance depending on your plan.
